This basket is one of the most finely woven we have ever owned. The original red and dark blue dyes have faded over time to a soft coral/pink and periwinkle. The woven designs appear to be pairs of natives in canoes; there are three of these groups on the lid and three around the bottom, all evenly spaced. The blue bands under them give the illusion of water beneath the canoes.
The basket is 7 inches across and 3 inches from edge of lid to bottom. The knob lid handle is approximately one and one-eighth inch high.
This basket is in outstanding condition with no breaks or fraying and would add a beautiful touch of ethnic art to any home.
