This charming compote or candy dish stands 5 ¼ inches high and measures 6 inches across the top with a 3 ½ inch base.
It was pressed in a two-part mold with a pattern of diamonds and hobnails. There is no signature or maker’s mark. It does have one small chip under the rim, which cannot be seen unless you turn it over.
We’ve filled the compote with lots of mini beaded fruit, including 4 apples, 3 pears 3 acorns, 1 plum and 1 pumpkin. You can, of course, display the compote empty and use the fruit elsewhere.
We’ve enjoyed displaying this piece over the years—the fruit gives it almost a folk art look.
